Patient’s Mum supports LifeFlight, wins $25,000!

When Marie purchased tickets in the LifeFlight lottery she simply thought she was doing a good deed. She wanted to support a charity that saved her daughter’s life. Never in her wildest dreams did she think she would be the lucky LifeFlight lottery winner of draw 4 and win $25,000! 

Marie’s story is a very personal one. The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Bundaberg crew airlifted her daughter from Hervey Bay Hospital in January this year. Suffering from a brain aneurysm, her daughter was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital using the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter. Despite the terrible weather that early morning in January, which would later lead to extensive flooding in the region, Marie was confident that her daughter was in the best possible hands while en route to Brisbane.

Marie could not say enough about the care and treatment that her daughter received. She firmly believes her daughter would not be alive today if not for the care she received from the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew. 

“They were absolutely marvellous and made sure that the transfer went smoothly while providing the very best care for my daughter,” she said.

LifeFlight Lottery winner is shocked

Upon finding out she was the LifeFlight Lottery draw 4 winner, and that she had won $25,000, Marie was asked what she was going to do with the money. She said she needed some time for it to become real and wanted to let the money sit in her bank account for a little while. 

“I just cannot thank you enough – this really is going to make a difference in our lives”. 

Marie’s daughter is doing well now and has returned to work. She still has a small aneurysm that requires close monitoring and regular MRIs.
